Wolverhampton Friday 3rd February

2.50pm

I’m on Faithful Ruler for Ron Harris in this one. He’s in the right grade, he’s been successful at seller and claiming level over the years and he looks to have every chance. Keith Dalgleish’s Munsarim is the one they all have to beat, but I’m hopefully my fella can put a good show.

3.15pm

I won on Alhaban the last day – he’s dropped right down the ratings over the past couple of years and he’s still potentially well-handicapped. He’s got a nice draw in stall two and I think he’s got a decent chance.

3.50pm

Time To Dance ran well first time at this course. She probably needs to improve on that effort to take a hand in this, but she’s got each-way prospects.

4.20pm

Sugar Beet has been in good form over the winter. She loves the Polytrack and Ron Harris has done a great job with her. She wouldn’t be out of it in this, but Alben Star and Capone will both be difficult to beat.

4.50pm

I won on Perlachy at this venue back in November and he’s been in decent form recently. He loves a strong pace, so hopefully he should get the race run to suit, and he has a solid chance of taking a hand in the finish.

5.20pm

M J Woodward has done most of his racing at Southwell and he’s stepping up to seven for the first time. He needs to up his game on Polytrack, but has a reasonable each-way chance.

Lingfield Saturday 4th February

1.20pm

My first ride of the day is Hecton Lad, who has been a little disappointing of late. However, if he comes back to form he’s definitely got a chance in a weak race.

1.55pm

Micky Quinn’s Waterloo Dock has done well in the Blue Square Sprint Series up to now and should be expected to pick up at least a couple more points from this race. He loves Lingfield and has a solid each-way chance.

2.25pm

My ride of the weekend has to be Ron Harris’s Diamond Vine. He didn’t disappoint as my bet of the weekend last week and with a great draw in stall one this time has an excellent chance to make it back-to-back victories. Another one who loves it at Lingfield, he looks the one  to beat.

3.00pm

Lockantanks is a cracking horse and was a little unlucky in his last race as he didn’t get the strong pace he needs. It looks like a stronger race this time though, but he has a good chance of going well from stall three.

3.35pm

I haven’t ridden Cashelgar before and to be honest I don’t know a great deal about him. He was beaten a long way in his last race and it’s probably best to wait until he shows a bit more.

4.05pm

I’m riding Search and Rescue for John Hills in what looks like quite a weak Maiden. Falcon’s Reign will be tough to beat but otherwise my mount has a decent each-way chance.

4.35

Scott Dixon’s Burnhope has shown a decent level of form and is probably the one to beat. Keep an eye out for both Jeremy Noseda’s and Marco Botti’s runners, though.

Ride of the day – Diamond Vine (again)
