Queally thrilled with Frankel

Tom Queally is confident Frankel remains at the peak of his powers after giving the unbeaten colt a spin ahead of his final start of the year in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.

The Galileo colt has scarcely been troubled in winning each of his eight racecourse starts and will be the star attraction on Qipco Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday week.

Queally was thrilled after riding work on Sir Henry Cecil's wonderhorse on Friday morning, and can hardly wait for the big day to arrive.

"It's just over a week now until Champions Day, and all eyes will be on Frankel in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes," the jockey said in his column on www.racinguk.com.

"I rode him this morning and he felt as good as ever. He worked with Bullet Train, as always, and lengthened clear in good style.

"Victory on Saturday would be a wonderful way to end an incredible season with him, and no doubt would give the inaugural Champions Day the coverage it deserves.

"It's a case of fingers crossed that we all arrive in one piece at Ascot."
